Baby!

This last year has been quite a rollercoaster. In Feb of 2008 I was worked up for infertility. We had all of the fun lab tests run and things were checking out ok, but I was not ovulating. They started me on metformin 500 mg a day and I lost 20 lbs. In June I started Clomid, round 1, in July I started clomid round 2...Turns out round 1 did the trick and we were pg! We found out at our second anniversary but it wasn't good news. The levels were all very bad. I miscarried our first baby August 1. That miscarriage went on for a very long time as my levels wouldnt drop and they ended up having to give me methotrexate, a chemo drug, to disolve the tissue as it wasn't in my uterus, it was in my tube. It was a very scary time. In September I finally had a regular cycle again and they did the HSG test where they check your tubes for blockages. We got the all clear there too! Very painful test, but it was necessary, esp after the tubal pregnancy. At the end of Sepetember I got anoter + pregnancy test. The progesterone was still way low and they started me on supplements. Don't go to walmart is all I have to say about that! It didn't end up sticking either and my levels quickly dropped back to zero. October 2 I miscarried our 2nd baby. I have to say it wasn't any easier than the other one! In November it was back to Clomid, 150 mg, on days 4-8, usually I took it on days 3-7. This round did not seem to have any effects, in otherwords we did not get pregnant. In December on Cycle day 3, I went in for an ultrasound to check out my ovaries, and had some big cysts. No clomid for me for December. I was sort of relieved, no poking, no extra labs, etc. Well on Christmas morning, Cycle day 20 I woke up early cramping to beat the band. I figure this could be it. Now I know it was. I ovulated! On Monday the 5th of Jan. I took a hpt after work in the morning 11 DPO. I had been having nausea off and on for a day or two. They were both +++++! I called the infertility office and they had me come in at 9 am the next day, Tuesday Jan 6. My levels were awesome! Progesterone 23, HCG 40. My progesterone had never been higher than 11, so that was very encouraging. One week later Tues Jan 13 Progesterone 24, HCG 695. They said they wanted it to be over 150. I was a little nervous it might be twins at this point! But once again the levels are great and I don't need to supplement! One week later Jan 20 HCG 7248, Progesterone is 28! Once again they just wanted it to be over 3000. Ok, now I was really worried it might be twins! We got to schedule our US for Friday as Scot was going to be out of town all of the next week. So Friday Morning Jan 24 we get to see our little bean. We have one heartbeat and the baby is measuring just where I thought it should! We are really Really REALLY PREGNANT!
Now the waiting game begins again. My first OB appt is not until Feb 10! I hope I get to see or at least hear our little one again. I have been nauseaated off and on mostly at night but nothing too bad so far!
